COVID-19 Response
Past Policy
From March 2020 to the Spring 2021 semester, all MACS meetings, socials, and related activities were held online in order to effectively practice social distancing and to ensure the safety of our members and collaborators.

To continue to enact MACS's mission to promote marine conservation and education, we elected to temporarily change meetings to focus on educational activites for our members. Our meetings consisted of discussing marine facts previously taught via educational booths and inviting a variety of guest speakers who presented their research, activism, and professional development.
Current Response
As the University of Arizona transitions back to in-person sessions, MACS will also return to campus! In-person meetings (back in your favorite ocean-decorated room) will be held again starting August 2021.

MACS also recognizes that each ocean-minded individual has different needs and comfort and will continue to implement online meetings to allow for greater accessibility for our members. Zoom meetings will be held concurrently with our in-person meetings and MACS has created a new position for our board to effectively facilitate this change.

MACS continues to follow university-mandated policies in regard to this situation.
